1778 $50 Continental Currency. Contemporary Ctft. Highly collectible and quite scarce. One of the most significant problems facing the new nation and its former colonias, now states was that of counterfeiting. While many of the attempts were very crude some were indeed quite good, especially when you consider the times and primitive equipment available. This note is very attractive and has been Certified and Graded by PCGS as Apparent Very Fine 30. PCGS also notes that there is edge damage and multiple restorations. None of this seems out of the ordinary for this type of note. The look and detail of the note is outstanding. A nice addition to any type of colonial or historical collection.
