U.S. CURRENCY 1907 LARGE, RED SEAL $5 NOTE "WOODCHOPPER" NOTE! This is a nice example of a large size red seal $5 currency from 1907. It is crisp and clean and has the signature combination of Speelman/White along with a portrait of President Andrew Jackson in the lower left corner. The color on this note is bright with bold features and four intact corners. This note has a couple of very small stains and barely visible folds - one horizontal and one vertical. There is a small tear on the center bottom edge of this note. Otherwise, there are no holes or other tears on this note. These early, large size notes are known for their decorative scroll work and vignettes. This particular $5 series note has an Americana vignette in the center depicting a man with an ax (hence the nickname, "Woodchopper" note), with his dog and rifle nearby. His wife is directly behind him holding a baby, and a house is visible behind her. This high quality note has nice eye appeal and rates a Fine+.
