For auction is a cancelled stock certificate - International Mercantile Marine - 10 shares preferred stock issued to Van Essen & Co and on the back dated 2/19/1924.  The certificate is printed by American Bank Note Company and measures 8" by 11 3/4".  It shows a ship on the top (one of the three sister ships) and on the bottom a lady by a sail ship, anchor and instrument.  International Mercantile Marine controlled the White Star Line, which built and operated the Titanic, Olympic and Britannic.  The pin hole cancellation reads: CANCELED 1/3/1927 JPM&CO (J. P. Morgan & Company).
