It took place June 5th. 1783, rose to 6,000 ft. and traveled a distance of 7,668 ft. This is one of the six "Milestones of Manned Flight Series" Medals we are currently offering on auction. We believe it may be oxidized silver plating or silver wash over pewter but we are not sure because we could not find any markings or hallmark. Others have listed these same medals on eBay as silver & minted by The International Silver Company. We cannot confirm this and would rather be direct & honest about it rather than disappoint our fellow eBayers.
