Beautiful and scarce South Africa 1959 Proof Set 11 pcs. gold, silver, and bronze coins. This is the complete set for the year. The gold coins are as follows: 1 Pound (7.9881 grams/.917 fine gold), and 1/2 Pound (3.994 grams/.917 fine gold). The coins are in their original condition with toning. The set grades from Choice to Gem Proof condition. There are some red spots on both the gold coins, and the Penny piece is darkly toned. The set comes in the original South Africa Mint box.
