Authentic Minted Coins of the First Century
Coins were first introduced in the seventh century BC, an innovation in ancient society that allowed the government to establish a unified standard of currency that could be recognized internationally. Taxes, goods and services could be paid for in recognized units of gold, silver, bronze or copper, rather than through barter or trade. By the Roman era, coins were widely used in the Holy Land, and their history is now well-established. Archaeologists consistently use coins to help date excavations Included in this set are three of the coins that play an important role in the Gospels.
The Certificate of Authenticity you will receive states: “These coins were struck from exact dies made through advanced laser technology from genuine coins discovered in Jerusalem.
