Untitled Document GIORI "Queen of Spades" De La Rue Specimen Test Note! What you are looking at here is a Beautiful Specimen Test Note produced by the Giori De La Rue Company ... a pioneer in Bank Note design and production! According to the Catalog of Test Notes, this is # TLDR-191c ... a color Trial Note. It is in Crispy Clean Uncirculated condition with absolutely NO folds, NO marks, NO pinholes, No imperfections of any kind. Perfect collector's condition. It is apparently called the "Queen of Spades" Test Note by other Test Note Collectors. Other information revealed it as a version of the so called "Puszkin Note". A nice RARE SPECIMEN TEST NOTE! This note has been reported to be produced around 1977 but I cannot prove an exact date on it. It has recently sold from an auction house through Ebay for $110 !!! (follow this link and see). I have multiple notes ... bid on one or all of them ... very limited supply. Its Technicolor design on the reverse side displays a complicated webbed grid of colors consisting of Pinks, Greens, Blues, Purples, etc... The vignette displays a beautifully dressed woman decorated with elegant clothes, wearing a crown and smelling a flower. It's motif is a wonderful rendition of "suits" commonly displayed on a deck of cards (spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds). It bears the denomination of "10". The 10 meaning 10 Rubles The other side of the note is more descriptive, bearing the vignette of a young man with curly hair which I have identified to be "Alexander Pushkin" who was a Russian National Poet. It also bears the background of a rustic looking Russian City which I understand is St. Petersburg, USSR. The word "Specimen" is printed in pink on the right hand side of the note. It also bears a numeral "31" which is likely the "series" of this test printing. There is ample writing, but I am unable to translate it from its "Cyrilick" (Russian) Scripture. My understanding from other collectors is that this note originates from Switzerland ... this is also where the Giori Company was actually located! It was a specialized issue when the Soviet Government has plans to order new print machines to print their paper money. Printed by De La Rue Giori's Equipment, designed by Roger Pfund. 100% Authentic and Extremely Interesting! Good luck to the winner of this possible treasure! I have not seen one identical to this on Ebay or anywhere else! I have been selling Paper Money on Ebay for over 10 years with over 1100 Positive Feedbacks so bid with confidence! . Good Luck.
