Fr.1379 Fourth Issue 50c. Portrait of Samuel Dexter. A very pretty note with outstanding color and detail. Clearly Crisp Uncirculated with no signs of any circulation at all. However, at the right edge on the reverse side there is old mounting residue and scuffing. It was not uncommon for the very early collectors of money to mount such things as Fractionals, Colonials, Confederates and Obsoletes in what we would call photo type albums. The notes were usually just glued in held in place with some form of available adhesive. they didnt realize these things were going to bebome worth serious money. This one is great without the mounting residue. It should also be noted that this type is one of only two in the entire Fractional Currency run to ever use the green Trasury Seal. You'll save a little money on this one and still get a wonderful looking note. OPENS at 9.99 only and SELLS at NO RESERVE. |
