Take A Boat Trip With Coin Altar To Ancient Phoenicia, BEFORE The Invasion Of Alexander The Great...   The Obverse:  Galley sailing left over waves below The Reverse:   King of Persia to left slaying lion to right, Phoenician AB between (ayin bet), all within incuse square BMC 34v    Silver 1/16th Shekel    Struck in Sidon, Phoenicia 372-358 B.C.   8mm   0.5g A special issue of ancient coin, and one rarely seen.  This is a very tiny relic, just 8mm across it's face, and only weighing half a gram.  It shows a galley, or ship, sailing over ocean waves on one side.  There is a fairly even strike, showing the waves across the coin beneath galley at the top.  The marks for the oars along the galley rails are visible.  The waves below are displayed as jagged lines moving across the coin.  A very nice and interesting image.  The reverse shows the King of Persia, reaching out to grab the mane of a standing lion.  There are two Phoenician letters between the images, all are with an incuse square.  The image of the lion comes across more strongly than the image of the king, but both still deliver a punch.  My favorite, though, are the waves...  Great images on a great coin, and very small.  It is from Sidon, Phoenicia, a very important Mediterranean port city.  Homer even wrote about it.  This particular coin was minted in Sidon BEFORE the invasion of Alexander The Great brought Phoenicia into a conglomeration of Hellenistic monarchies.  This ancient Phoenician coin is very scarce, is authentic and is completely guaranteed.  This coin will be delivered in a long term storage coin flip, with all of the important attribution information contained on a card inside, well presented and ready for entry into your professional ancient coin collection. The winner will have this ancient coin shipped out within one business day First Class U.S. Mail with a tracking number.  International customers pay $2.25, the same as domestic customers for First Class shipping.  Registered Mail, though, is the best method for expensive coins shipping Internationally, and will cost $12.00 should you choose that option.  Buy more than one coin and there is no extra charge for shipping, no matter where you live. Thank You For Viewing My Coins!!
