CHU HUNG WU, after crucial military victories, became EMPEROR TAI TSU (1368-1398) establishing the MING DYNASTY. According to the information that came with this coin, it is the first mintage of the MING. In quotes on the little package it says: "Circulating Currency of Overflowing Militarism". Whether that is the comment of the previous owner or a translation of the characters on the coin I must leave it up to the literate in Chinese to determine.     I gladly ship Worldwide..
