The medals are blank on one side (a little scuffed), and has those words on the front, along with the pictures of a diver, a tennis racket, a basketball player, and a baseball bat. It is layered in 10 to 14 karat gold. This medal is not simply gold tone, there really is a thick layer of gold on there. Yes, it's plated, but it is a thick plating.
