This bond has the more desirable and less often found vintage steam train on the left and harbor scene on the right top vignette. Massachusetts state seal at bottom centerI purchased this in a Smythe auction over 15 years ago. This particular bond is in exceptional condition, especially when compared to others in the market. It has a light vertical fold down the center, some trivial partial folds upper right and very light fading, but has been well cared for in a dry, smoke free environment. It is complete, with the bond itself and 2 pages with 100 interest coupons for $17.50 each. The coupons are numbered 1-200. The bond is unissued but is imprinted with a January 1, 1901 issuance date. Color is still vivid, especially on the face of the bond, which has not been exposed to the elements. The coupons have protected it from exposure. Paper is still very crisp and in excellent shape with no tears or folds other than the folds mentioned above. The bond is unsigned. You will find it difficult to come up with the equal of this note in terms of condition. None of this quality are for sale now anywhere I can find.I believe condition will become increasingly important in this collecting area, and that at least one certification service will at some point begin third party grading. Now is the time to accumulate the choice condition examples such as this.The coloring is various shades of grey-green.The size of the bond is a little over 10 x 15 inches. Shipping Information: 1.
