I have decided to sell a small number of items from my personal collection. I’ve spent a lot of time building this collection and all items have been meticulously cared for. Ancient Celtic Ring Money-In the time before minted currency, the Celts used these rings as their money. These pieces of the ancient world are very desirable collector's items and appraise well. This is a thick, sturdy piece. I'm going to refer to it as "donut shaped" becuase of the thickness of the ring. The piece is covered in an excellent bright green patina. My love for these items lies in holding them, viewing them and trying to feel the history. When I look at an item like this ring, I wonder who used it, when and for what purpose. Did a Celtic warrior spend it on a fine weapon? Did a chieftan spend it in pursuit of on tools for his people? Did some ancient Celt spend it on alcohol? These impressions make artifacts like this one stand out for me. Hopefully, you will also be able to enjoy that pleasure.
