We are offering an original stock certificate for the ’49 GOLD PLACER MINING COMPANY dated June 3rd, 1905 for twenty-five shares of capital stock issued to Nancy Houston.  Also a letter on the mining company’s letterhead to Mr. E. C. Mashen of Sandwich DeKalb Co. dated 2/5/07 forwarding this certificate to the addressee.   The certificate has the company’s gold corporate seal stamped into it with the company’s name and location in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The certificate also has three great vignettes at the top.  The center vignette depicts two flumes transporting water into a large ditch from a river above the ditch.  Two men in the ditch are digging for gold in the water.  The vignette on the left depicts two gold diggers inspecting a large rock for gold content as a well-dressed man looks on; and the vignette on the right depicts a prospector panning for gold in a riverbed.   The stock certificate, which measures approximately 8 ½” x 10 ¾”, is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with normal fold lines, a tiny edge tear at one of the fold lines (about 1/8”), a corner crease at lower left hand corner, and some slight age discoloration on other side of certificate.   The letter, which measures 8 ¼” x 10 ¼”, is also in EXCELLENT CONDITION with normal fold lines.   PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE GREAT COLLECTIBLES.
