The first official public sale of uncut bank note sheets (40 x $1 notes) began at the Bank of Canada agencies across Canada on December 12th, 1988. These sheets were printed by the British American Bank Note Company (BABN) in a 5 x 8 note format (five notes across, eight deep) and were offered either across the counter or by mail at $50 each, plus $5 postage and provincial sales tax where applicable. With the success of the BABN sheet a second was introduced on May 8th, 1989. These sheets were printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company (CBN), in a 4 x 10 note format. The sheets were available to the public until June 30th, 1989, the day the $1 note was retired from circulation.
These circulated notes are in nice condition for their age. You will notice the color is holding up quite well and all have no tears. There are a few fold marks on each and all have been preserved in a book. I won't bother grading these notes as I'm not a professional. Please judge for yourself by the scanned image. No reserve, Bid with Confidence & GOOD LUCK!
