Very beautiful coin, they are not available in every province of Canada. Everybody should have one in their collection as a souvenir specially like this uncirculated one.
This commemorative coin was designed by artist Geneviève Bertrand. Depicting the idea of an encounter, the image represents the arrival of Samuel de Champlain’s ship at the banks of the St. Lawrence.

"Four hundred years ago, Samuel de Champlain built a fur trading post on the St. Lawrence River (Quebec). The location he chose for his “habitation” was a popular spot where the Algonquin people came to fish and to barter. Kebec (where the river narrows) quickly became one of North America’s largest maritime cities. Today, its unique character as the only walled city on the continent continues to draw people from around the world."
