Florida Shipwreck Astrolabe Decypher Geocoin Sold Out
This is a wonderfully fun coin, part of the "Florida Shipwreck" series. Antique Copper finish, ~ 2 1/8" across and 4mm thick! From the designer: "The coin incorporates the 3 previous coins in the series, the Anchor for the Reale Treasure Cache, the Cross for the Gold Escudo Treasure Cache, and the Sacred Heart for the Capitana Medallion Treasure Geocoins.So how does the Decypher piece work? There are a multitude of fun ways to use this decypher coin. The simplest is to spin the astrolabe arm to the letter you want to use and draw the flag symbol to represent that letter (simple encode/decode). You can also make it more complex and, for example, set the letter A at 5. So you would go to E (either the flag or the letter) and that would represent A, the next B and so on…getting even more complicated by using the flag symbology. So whoever you have sent the message to or written it down for would need to know the cypher code (ie A5) for that particular message. Why would you want to? Because it is fun in multiple caches, hunts, games, etc. You can put a set code in one cache, with coordinates to another cache, the decypher coin in that cache, with a coded message with clues and coordinates to the final cache."
