This is a great opportunity to get this PERFECT set at a great value! 2007 American Eagle 10th Anniversary Platinum Coin Set (TA7) To help commemorate the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the American Eagle Platinum Coin Program, the United States Mint is pleased to offer a limited-edition two-coin set. The proof version of the American Eagle Platinum Coin features a cameo image floating on a mirror-like background and the first-time offered reverse proof version of the American Eagle Platinum Coin features a frosted background and an enhanced brilliant, mirror-like finish on the raised elements of the coin. This is an enhanced reverse proof version because it is not an exact opposite polish of the regular proof version. The design elements on the enhanced reverse proof platinum coin were strategically selected to feature the proof, mirror-like finish in contrast to frosted background design elements to enhance the entire image. Each of the 2007-dated coins carry the "W" mint mark, indicating their production at the United States Mint at West Point. State-of-the-art technology was used to craft the dies for the reverse proof coins. Since its debut in 1997, the United States Mint's American Eagle Platinum Proof Coin has featured on the obverse Lady Liberty, a symbol of vigilance and resolute faithfulness to duty. The reverse of the 2007 American Eagle Platinum Coin represents the Executive Branch of the government and depicts a bald eagle with its wings spread wide to represent freedom with a shield at the ready to enforce the laws that guarantee those freedoms. The coins have the inscriptions of the denominations, the weight of the platinum content, the year of minting or issuance, the words "Liberty," "In God We Trust," "United States of America," and "E Pluribus Unum," and feature a reeded edge. The American Eagle Platinum Anniversary Set is presented in an elegant hardwood box with a mahogany finish and adorned with a silver foil on the domed lid. The box is highly lacquered, rubbed and buffed to a gloss finish. The coins are exhibited on a specially designed wood platform angled to display the coins when the box is opened.
