Up for auction is a 1971 Proof Set of "The Decimal Coinage of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 1971"  This set of 6 coins is historic as it's the first coin set in decimals for Great Britain. The coins themselves are really lovely works of art and they are encased in hard plastic as proof coins are but the case has become cracked for about 1/2" on the right hand side at the edge. This small crack in the hard plastic casing does not go through to the other side, it is only on the front side, the side with Queen Elizabeth's profile.        The coins are beginning to have some toning around their edges, just barely on both sides. These are still lovely coins and it's part of history so don't be shy, if you want them, they're yours, just simply be the highest bidder!
