This item is a very rare error, you may see one or two per year on Ebay. 1988 Washington Quarter struck on a Nickel planchet. This coin shows very little circulation wear which tells me that it was found and saved shortly after minting. It was found by me in a bag full of error coins which were mostly off center strikes and multi strikes, then this jem surfaced. The coin contains no copper center which varifies that it is not a scrap strike. The coin weighs exactly 5 grams (the weight of a Jefferson Nickel). If you send this coin out to be authenticated and it comes back as anything less than authentic I will return your purchase price, your shipping cost and your authentication costs (upon return of the coin, of course). If that doesn't smell like confidence to you, I don't know what will. Due to the rarity of this particular coin you may have additional questions I will do my best to answer them. Thank You, for your interest |
