This lot contains a 1942-P Liberty Walking Half Dollar that is a MS-63 coin based on the Red Book Grading Scale. I think the pictures tell the story about the condition of this coin. It is in beautiful condition, with no problems to point out. All of the wording, the date, motto, etc., are all very strong and clear. The skirt lines are all present, and the detail of Ms. Liberty, down to her sandels, is very well defined. The detail on the Eagle on the reverse is just as strong. The feathers, the talons, and head of the eagle are in excellent shape. The detail of the branches being held by the eagle has to be seen to appreciate the detail. The rims of the coin are in great shape, and the coin in general still retains its original luster. The AW monogram of the coin designor is very legible. Finally, this particular coin should make a terrific addition or replacement to your Walking Liberty collection, and at a very reasonable price. If you check your price guides, I think you will find that this coin is priced well below the current retail price. So, good luck if you decide to participate in the auction, otherwise thanks for looking. Shipping will be made at a standard flat rate to all U.S. locations. |
