AUTHENTIC EARLY WESTERN STOCK CERTIFICATE FROM THE MUNDO GOLD MINING COMPANY
Incorporated Under the Laws of the State of Colorado
CRIPPLE CREEK, COLORADO (printed beneath title)
Seldom-seen Teller County certificate issued 113 years ago on December 9th, 1895 for 1,000 shares worth $1 each. Just above the date line it reads "Principal Office at Pueblo in the State of Colorado". The border and corporate seal are a shiny-gold color. (Stock# 757) A rustic-looking vignette shows a group of early miners filling an ore cart in a tunnel. Uncommon printing style with ornate designs around the vignette and title. Printed by Pueblo Litho, Colorado - I have not seen this printer before.
Hand-signed by the company president and secretary. What look like smudges on the left side of the stock are actually fingerprints - most likely from one of the original signers... it is always kind of neat to see this. I think it adds to the history. The old-fashioned fountain pens could be quite messy! Excellent condition with just a few very light vertical folds. UNCANCELLED
Additional info: The Mundo Gold Mining Company owned the Granitite Claim.
An exceptional piece of Cripple Creek mining history!
Larger than most certificates - measuring about 12 x 8 & 3/4 inches
