Very popular unique, and obsolete denomination.  Only 1.3 million minted for the two regular issuance years.  Many were destroyed by the Mint, lost or terribly worn.  This specimen also exhibits two noteworthy features: the top of a digit, likely a 5, is visible in the denticles below the primary 7.  Additionally, the S mintmark is repunched, with the secondary S evident and tilted.     This auction is for one 1875 S twenty cent piece inside a plastic sheet with a certificate from investment advisor Bill Gay of First Coinvestors INC.  The coin was purchased by my grandfather through a coin investment company in the 1970s called First Coinvestors Inc.  We will be auctioning about 100 coins that have been independently graded by First Coinvestors Inc. from a collection called the Walter Breen U.S. Rare Coin Portfolio.  Each coin is graded by two independent graders at First Coinvestors Inc so I will report both grades a coin receives.  This coin was given the respective grades of Fine+ and Very Fine by the graders.  Of course this was in the 1970's when coin grading was held to much stricter standards than it is held to today.  I do not think First Coinvestors Inc. guarantees their graded coins as PCGS, NCG, and ANACS do.  Therefore use these grades as guideposts, but ultimately decide the grade for yourself.   Some people have been inquiring as to the other coins we will be auctioning in the future so I have included a small list in the space where the return policy normally goes.  In case you like my stuff here are some links: Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! Payment: This is a PayPal and MO only auction.  I will consider other forms of payment under some circumstances but your record must reflect a plethora of responsible transactions.  If you want to bid using another payment option simply send me a message and wait for approval before bidding.    Shipping Information: We value positive feedback from our buyers and pride ourselves on the quality of items sold. We pack and ship our items professionally to ensure each item you buy from us arrives safely and in the listed condition. Our items are shipped via USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail. I get shipping materials free from the post office so I do not charge any handling fee.  Items are typically shipped within 2-3 business days of receipt of payment. For non-PayPal payment methods I will ship the item as soon as the payment clears.  You will be notified by email when your item has been shipped. I am unable to ship to PO boxes, so please provide a standard mailing address with your payment. If you pay by PayPal, and your shipping address is different than your confirmed address in PayPal, you must email me directly to let me know of the requested change. I will email you back to accept it, otherwise your item will be sent to your confirmed PayPal address.  UPSP DOMESTIC PRIORITY FLAT RATE SHIPPING PRICE IS OBVIOUSLY US ONLY!  I WILL SHIP TO CANADA AND MEXICO WITH USPS PRIORITY INTERNATIONAL FLAT RATE PROVIDED THE PURCHASE IS COMPLETED WITH PAYPAL AND WITHIN 24 HOURS OF AUCTIONS COMPLETION. Unless for some reason you want to make other arrangements, I will require all items to be insured for full amount during shipping.  I will combine shipping on items won within a 3 day period (my auctions will always be either 2 or 3 days in a row per week).  Because I use Flat Rate Priority Mail weight doesn’t matter.  On multiple items you will only be charged once for the shipping; however, you still will have to pay for the insurance.  But if you purchase 6 items from me over any amount of time, you will achieve "Favorite customer" status, and then I will pay for both insurance and shipping on additional items you win.  *TERMS & CONDITIONS/RETURNS*   At the end of an auction, I will promptly send you an email containing an invoice of the sale with a "PAY NOW" button for use with PayPal.  Winning bidder responsible must notify me within 72 hours from close of auction with verification of phone number and payment methods.   Any non-PayPal payment option is to be received within 14 days. I reserve the right to remove items from availability due to buyer lapse. (I have way too many things going on to email every single person who is late). Foreign buyers outside of North America email before bidding. I'm a hobbyist, not a department store. That said; sellers are NOT required to accept returns, but I do (on all items paid for within 7 days of win), and my conditional return policy is simple: email FIRST, then send item back exactly as shown and in my hands within 7 days of receipt, and receive refund minus 15% restocking fee (30% if after 7 days). Refunds over $100 allow up to two weeks. Refunds will be in the same format as original payment. Funds are released AFTER brief positive feedback is left (with no reference to return). Return policy is not extended on items paid for after 7 days of win. Further, return policy is not extended on items purchased by EBay members with feedback score below 99% positive. My attribution/grade of a collectible is only as factual as the images I provide can support; any bidding on uncertified material should be solely based on said provided images. All coins are guaranteed not bent unless otherwise noted. Returns are inconvenient for both buyer and seller; please ask any questions BEFORE placing final bid. I reserve the right to not extend this return policy to any buyer who expresses disdain or discord with my terms and conditions.   All that having been said; I am an honest and reasonable guy with a genuine desire to have satisfied customers and an accurately represented product.  So far, no one has ever wanted to return an item they purchased; however, if the day comes where someone wants a return, they can expect me to be polite and accommodating since I expect the same.  Thanks for looking and good luck! If you have any questions prior to bidding please don't hesitate to ask.  I will try to get back to you the same day.  About the collector (My Grandfather):  He was born in 1927 and was a collector from an early age.  He continued collecting well into the 1990's, amassing a diverse collection of US coinage and currency, foreign coinage, and silver bars. Coin collecting was a passion for him and something he enjoyed during his down time from his medical practice.  He was also blessed to have the means to buy some of the finest and rarer coins that are so sought after by collectors.  Many of the single coins we will be selling were purchased by my grandfather directly through coin investment companies that have graded the coins.  Those that have not been graded will be described in detail and great care will be taken to capture images that accurately reflect the integrity of the coin or bar. Thank you for your bids.
