1316 - 1335 Ilkhanids, Abu Said Medieval Silver Coin 2.31 g21/22 mmThis is a medieval silver coin with beautiful caligraphy. The Ilkhanate (1256-1335) was one of the four khanates within the Mongol Empire. It was centered in Persia, including present-day Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and western Pakistan. It was based, originally, on Genghis Khan's campaigns in the Khwarezmid Empire in 1219-1224, and founded by Genghis's grandson, Hulagu Khan. Abu Sa'id (1316-1335) was the ninth ruler of the Ilkhanate state in Iran.He died without an heir or named successor. The state lost its
status after his death, becoming a plethora of little kingdoms run by Mongols, Turks, and Persians. This coin has been a part of my collection for 30 years. Authenticity is guaranteed.S&H $3 US and Canada$12 International shipping is by registered mail.$1 each additional purchase |
